Adam's Baptism Weekend

This past weekend we celebrated Adam's baptism.  My family came out to help celebrate and we had a wonderful weekend.  My Aunt Judy said it best when she said it was a "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles kind of weekend."  It really was.

Friday my cousins and Aunt arrived by train.  Sarah and Pat came to hang out Friday evening and we took them to Kuma's Corner for dinner.  It's a heavy metal burger bar that is known for it's amazing burgers and excellent service.  This has been on our list of places to go since we moved here, and what better time to go than when my heavy metal loving cousin and her husband are in town?!  Adam was a rock star during dinner (except when he swatted at the ketchup and simultaneously spilled it on me and Tom, that kid has skills....and speaking of skills, I can now add 'changing a baby's diaper on my lap while squatting in a bar bathroom without allowing any part of him to touch the floor' to my list of mom accomplishments.  Score).
Meeting his Godmother for the first time

Bailey got some extra attention too

Saturday we spent the day hanging out around the apartment and catching up with some family while people kind of came and went all day.  My brother and cousins went downtown to enjoy the view from The Signature Lounge at the Hancock Building and Pat got to check out ComicCon which happened to be going on this weekend.  Saturday evening we enjoyed good company while watching some hockey and of course everyone got to spend some QT with Adam. He loved being the center of attention and was Mr. Active all weekend.

My Grandma Borys made this gown from her wedding dress in 1946.  My dad and aunts were baptized in it. My cousins and myself were baptized in it. Adam is the 10th baby and first of the 3rd generation to wear it for his baptism.
Sunday was Adam's big day and he decided he better sleep in to make sure he was well rested. (Seriously?! He was up between 5:45 and 6:15 all week and Sunday he sleeps until 7:30).  We still got to the church with plenty of time.  Adam did great and the whole thing went off without incident.  After some pictures and cake courtesy of the church, we all came back here for a post-Baptism celebration (and hockey).  Thankfully Adam took a 2 hour rockstar nap which allowed me to get everything ready for lunch (with some delegation and great helpers).  The rest of the afternoon was spent enjoying food, drink, and conversation.
