Some more sewing projects
I busted out the sewing machine last weekend to fix a pair of Tom's pants, and thanks to a wonderful husband and a semi-cooperative baby, I was able to work on another sewing project!
A couple of weeks ago we had a night where we went through both changing pad covers in a matter of 2 hours, so I decided it would be a good idea to make a third whenever I got a chance. I think it's because I already made one, but this one seemed so easy.
Here are a few other projects I was able to make before Adam arrived.
Muslin is not fun to sew with. Lesson learned

Some burp cloths from some remnant fabric |
Two small wetbags for the diaper bag |
I resized a regular sized Aden & Anais crib sheet from Salvation Army to fit our mini crib. |
Some embellished burp cloths |
This one matches my DIY nursing cover. |

Wordless Wednesday - I just can't get enough!
Confession: I actually had to double check to make sure today is in fact Wednesday before I posted this ;)

One Month Old!
Well, one month and one day, technically!
- Loves to eat
- Only sleeps on Mom's chest
- Does great awake time with Dad
- Sometimes goes crosseyed during said awake time
- Beginning to smile more, sometimes it almost looks purposeful!
- Can burp like a champ

Currently
Excited about Fall!! Cooler weather. Adam sleeping 2 hours in his bassinet last night!
Worried about Hmmm, oddly enough nothing is coming to my mind. I guess I'm kind of worried about my work situation in 8 weeks but I just have a feeling it will all work out :)
Reading Baby message boards whenever Adam does something new/different to make sure it's normal
Creating A birth announcement....stay tuned
Loving This sweet little being sleeping on my chest, little breathing sounds, random baby smiles
Hating How attention-deprived Bailey looks sometimes
Wondering If Adam will end up being colicky or if the newborn fussies will just die down
Craving Everything fall related! Pumpkin Spice Lattes, pumpkin roll, zucchini bread
Hoping I can figure out how to get a baby, a stroller, and a dog down (and then back up) a flight of stairs by myself for a walk
Watching on TV Today Show, Will & Grace, HIMYM, House Hunters, Friends, Conan On Demand (Yes I'm watching a lot of tv these days. Don't judge, there is only so much I can do when Adam is nursing or sleeping on my chest)
Listening to Norah Jones Pandora Station, Mumford & Sons Pandora Station
Cooking Ha! If opening up a Chobani is considered cooking, then I guess a lot of greek yogurt. So thankful for freezer meals!
Looking forward to Purposeful baby smiles
Thankful for Adam

Some updates on our little family
Yes, we're still alive...barely (just kidding). Adam will be 3 weeks old tomorrow and we are still adjusting to life with this adorable newborn and this *awesome* new level of sleep deprivation. I'm kind of hoping a magic flip will switch at the 6 week mark and things will get better (just humor me and don't burst my bubble on this one, okay? ;) We have our morning routine down pat, but the rest of the day is a free for all. Tom's been back at work for a week, and I feel like he gets even less sleep than I do. We've had a few visitors and gotten out a little bit (mostly for appointments or walks around the neighborhood), but any little bit helps.
Adam is a champion eater and has already passed the 10 pound mark. I'm continuing to feel better but am not quite 100% yet. And this morning I picked up my little chunker the wrong way and hurt my back :( I've been taking it easy (as easy as I can) and am really hoping it doesn't end up in an all out flare, because that would just be awful. Bailey should win the dog of the year award. She's so good around Adam, all she does is try to sniff his head (or butt).
Here are a few more pics from the past couple of weeks. He's so darn cute (I know, I'm biased) I can't help but post a ton of pictures :)
