Adam's First Haircut!
Adam has been long overdue for his first haircut. Poor little guy has the side swept bangs look down ;) I loved the little curls in the back, so I'd been putting off getting it cut, but it kept getting in his eyes so we finally scheduled an appointment. I was nervous as to how it would go!
Thankfully everything went great. We went to Snippets Mini Cuts and they had all of these awesome rides for the kids to sit in (I kinda wish they had these at the playground!). Adam loved spinning the wheel. He occasionally would try to turn his head and see what the hairdresser was up to, but the wheel and the constant stream of cheerios made available to him kept him quite busy ;)

Mommom and Poppop visit
Oops. It's been a while since my last post. The weekend after my parents came out to visit, we had a few more visitors...Tom's parents! They hadn't seen Adam since October when he was pretty weary of new people (or his "bottom lip, wait for it, cry" phase as I like to call it). So it was quite a treat for them when he was actually interactive and playful. We enjoyed a few days together and had fabulous weather too. Adam loved all of the attention and being able to show off ;) And Bailey loved the extra attention too.

Adam's First Birthday!
I cannot believe how fast the past year has gone! Adam turned one on Friday, July 18th. We had a quiet little day on Friday as Little Bud was teething and having a little bit of an off day. Friday evening we went to a local festival to enjoy the weather and celebrate a little for Adam. He enjoyed his first bite(s) of funnel cake and we sat outside and listened to some music and enjoyed the nice summer weather.
Saturday my parents came into town for a few days so Adam opened his birthday presents, but he was a little unsure, and honestly more interested in the string than actually opening the presents (Bailey, on the other hand, was quite eager to help him open them).
After presents and some playtime we gave him his 1st birthday cake and let him go to town. He was a little unsure at first, but eventually got his hands into it. I don't think he liked that the icing and cake stuck to his fingers so much. He ate *some* of his cake, but honestly not a lot. He was much more interested in throwing it on the floor, and again, Bailey was more than happy to help out and make it disappear.
A few days later Uncle Matt arrived and Adam had a blast laughing at him. He also enjoyed some of Grandma's homemade hamloaf and a few pieces of tomatoes (and again, so did Bailey ;) )
Before my family left, we enjoyed a dinner out at D'Agostino's and my cousin Laurel was able to join us. Adam supported his hometown baseball team and LOVED watching the train (or maybe the fan) that drove around the top of the restaurant. He's definitely my baby, because he didn't turn down any of the pizza that found it's way into his mouth ;)

One Year Old!
Gah! Let me take a break from crying my eyes out to write Adam's 12 month post!!!
- Loves to try to walk holding onto our hands
- Has earned the nickname "Destructo-Bud" as he tears apart/empties anything within his reach
- Tries to look out the windows
- Likes standing in the window sill or on the loveseat and watching cars and bikes go by on the street
- Pushes Bailey's paws out of the way as he crawls past her, even if they are not *really* in his way
- Gets so excited when something prints on the printer
- Makes new happy sounds "A ha!"
- Fav activity is to assume the bear position and throw a coaster/ring/block between his legs (future NFL center??!?)
- Loves to drop coasters and rings on the coffee table and watch them spin until they stop
- Opens his mouth when he is unsure of something (anything)
- Likes to put (and leave) toys on the window sill
- Is still mesmerized by music when it comes on the tv
- Doesn't let Tom play the guitar for him because he has to stand up and strum for himself (often muting the sound with his other hand)

Birthday Week!
Wow, Birthday week has come and gone. So fast!! True to form, I celebrated for the entire week ;) The weekend before my birthday we walked to the local pool (that is FREE and only like 7 blocks away)! The water was freezing, but Adam still enjoyed splashing around.
For my actual birthday (Wednesday) I didn't have any EI kids scheduled, so I was able to go and get a mani/pedi Wednesday evening while Tom watched Adam. We had Pizza Hut for dinner (my fav) and I may have gotten a new wrap in the mail ;) Adam and I enjoyed the amazing weather outside too :)
Thursday night Tom and I had our first date night since before Adam was born! Our neighbor's daughter came over to "watch" Adam (after he fell asleep) while we went to a local restaurant (Pitchfork) to sit outside, enjoy some food, drinks, good conversation, and nice weather.
Friday Tom had off of work for the 4th so we enjoyed a nice 3 day weekend. We grilled out, went for a bunch of walks, and I dyed my DIY wrap that I've had cut and hemmed for months! It's not perfect but it will make a great "beater" wrap to keep in the bottom of the stroller or in the car.

Staycation all I ever wanted......
Last week Tom took a few days off of work and I cancelled one of my EI patients so we could have a Staycation. As much as we LOVE going on vacation, we just weren't sure how it was all going to shake out with Adam, plus we're on a stricter budget, so we decided to have a staycation :)
The first day happened to be Adam's "11 month" birthday so we of course took some pictures with his 11 month sticker :D We went on a couple of walks together including taking Bailey to the pet store to pick out her birthday toy. (Every year they send us a coupon for a free toy for her birthday!) For dinner we walked to a local sushi restaurant and I enjoyed sushi for the first time in almost 2 years!!
Thursday we had to go to work to get our TB tests read, so we made a trip out of it and went to the zoo afterwards. There were tooooooons of kids there from various daycamps. Adam had a good time looking at the animals, but his attention span was uber short. He liked the zebras best. For dinner we decided to check out a local restaurant, Pitchfork, which we had been wanting to visit for a while. The best part was that we got to sit outside and enjoy the weather (and giant beers).
Friday we mostly hung around the apartment. We went for a walk, set up the baby pool in the back yard for Adam, and Tom finally got some ice cream from the ice cream truck (who knew they sold soft serve, for cheap, btw?!) I made a feta, spinach, and artichoke calzone for dinner.
Saturday we walked over to the local park to watch some wheelchair baseball and just sit outside and enjoy the weather. Later in the day we went over to a friend's house for a BBQ/Goodbye party for two of our friends who are moving to Brooklyn at the end of the month. It was a blast and there were babies and kiddos everywhere, so it was a little chaotic ;)
Sunday was low key as we got ready for the week ahead. We took Adam to the park and he enjoyed the swing more than he has any other time ;)
