Olaf

Adam had to dress like a character from Frozen on Friday for preschool. I've obviously never seen the movie, but I was pretty sure the goofy snowman was our only option since the only other characters I'd heard of were princessy. Thanks to a quick google image search, some construction paper, and some tape, I was able to whip up this little costume for him!

Mr. Fix It

Adam built a tool box today at a Home Depot workshop! He's also built a fire truck and a helicopter (with Dad's help, of course ;) )

Big Boy Bed!!

We weren't really in a rush to move Adam to an official big boy bed, however Owen is rapidly outgrowing the mini crib and we needed the full-size crib that Adam is currently using as a toddler bed.

It's always a good idea to have Spiderman help build your bed, if possible.

SO excited!

He looks so tiny!!

Christmas Eve Shenanigans

Christmas Eve Shenanigans 🎄🎅🏻😊

A few of my favorite questions from Adam about Santa:
Is he going to eat the cookies on his sleigh?
Does he have hands? Does he have gloves?
Is he going to take his shirt off when he comes inside?
Does he like chips?
😂😂😂

Leaving reindeer food on the front lawn so Santa knows where to stop

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!!

Tom and I have always wanted to go to an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party but the stars have never aligned.  Well turns out all you have to do is move to the burbs and get to know a few of the neighborhood preschool parents! Ha.

I had a good time making my sweater. I knew I wanted to wear my Chirstmas leggings so I went to Good Will and found a red sweater to match.  Then I saw an idea on facebook and ran with it! You sew a stocking onto a sweater that doubles as a wine bottle holder!!!  Add some dollar store battery operated LED lights and voila! You win runner up at the Ugly Christmas Sweater party!!! Tom bought his sweater from the men's section of Good Will, however many (many) people throughout the night begged to differ that it was actually from the men's section.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had a nice Thanksgiving just the four of us!  We kicked it off with cinnamon rolls, a breakfast casserole, and mimosas.

Later we made a turkey with all the fixings, and then most importantly, pie! Adam helped me make a homemade pumpkin pie.  And Tom requested lemon meringue pie, and the last time I attempted to make one was a complete disaster, so we went store bought for his pie.
And Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without the trifecta superhero visit! Superman and Spiderman and Batman (or Spiderbatman?) all made an appearance!

Cubs win!!

After living less than 3 miles from Wrigley Field for almost 6 years, I think you are automatically qualified as a Cubs fan! We were so excited to watch them FINALLY win the World Series!!

Happy Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween this year!!  Adam dressed up as a fireman and was super excited to go Trick-or-Treating.  I took him around the block while Tom stayed home to hand out candy with Owen.  The absolute best part of the night was when an actual firetruck came down the street handing out candy. Adam was in shock and couldn't believe his eyes! And of course the next several houses we went to all asked him if he had seen the firetruck.
