What we've been up to lately...
I feel like I should do another garden update...it seems as though all of our plants took off over the past week. And we think that we have finally solved the mystery of Mystery Plant. We think he is Dill. Which would be cool because I like dill. But I've decided not to bore you with only plants.
Anyways we've done a few things the past week or so and I remembered to snap some pics. Our new hospital has officially moved and our name has officially been changed. We went to the CMH Closing Celebration and enjoyed some awesome free food from vendors around the old hospital. The weather was perfect and they did a great job making sure there were enough seats, food, drinks, etc. I didn't really feel super sad about it since 1) I didn't work in inpatient here so I don't really have any memories in the old hospital, 2) I actually am not really being affected by the move as our outpatient locations are not moving, and 3) I've only been here a year and a half.
Friday I had some errands to run but I managed to stop by the lake a little bit north of my usual spot for lunch. I found a cute little spot that wasn't too populated and enjoyed some rays and the view.
Recently we went over to our friend Jess's place for one of her infamous Game Nights. Now, you all know how I feel about games, but I think I'm starting to come around (as long as no one makes me play Trivial Pursuit or Monopoly). We played a really fun game, Telestrations. After we finally figured out how to play, we had a blast. Basically everyone gets a booklet and picks a phrase from a card. You write the phrase down and then pass the book to the person next to you. The person next to you then has to draw that phrase, and then you pass the books again and the next person has to guess what the phrase would be based on your drawing. You keep going until you have gone full circle. It was pretty hilarious to see some of the drawings and guesses. I wish I had snapped a pic of my "zoo" drawing (which Tom guessed accurately by the way)!
We also visited with Marietta, a sweet 6 year old dog that Jess is fostering. I'm really hoping that someone wants to adopt her, because she is such a good dog and obviously had a tough life before she ended up in the shelter. (Jess if you're reading this she is the perfect dog for you!!!)

I think we need to win the lottery and buy a place with a view of the lake. I'm a tad obsessed.
Any guesses on Jess's artwork? I bet you weren't thinking toilet paper roll. Yeah, that's what she was trying to draw.

She loved to give me her paw and was always trying to hold hands!!! Such a sweetie!

Friday Funday
I big puffy heart love, love, love my every other Fridays off times eleventy billion.
Yesterday was perfection (except for waking up at the crack of dawn)! Bailey and I had a blast at the lake. All (okay, not even close to "all" but a lot nonetheless) of our pictures are below. We spent 2 hours at the lakefront and I could have stayed longer but someone was bugging me to go home. Bailey made a few new friends, got spooked by an old lady in a beach chair reading her book on the beach, drank half of the lake, and then spent the entire rest of the afternoon sunbathing on the back deck.
After our lake adventure I enjoyed some time on the back deck with Bailey, went to Target for some deals, and then met up with our friend Jess and a bunch of friends we've met through her for Happy Hour at Brownestone. We were originally hoping to sit outside, but it all worked out since we got to sit inside by the windows and watch the Phillies and the Sixers on adjacent TV's. Tom found a new favorite beer (Green Line IPA by Goose Island) and it was a great way to kick off our weekend!

Ha! This was a fun picture to take...she wasn't very cooperative and is kind of a camera hog!
Love it. Love, love love.
Chicago!
This is where we were sitting after our 2 hour walk when B started getting restless. Apparently she did not think it was as peaceful and calming as I did.

Spring is in the Air!
I have been LOVING my lunchtime walks! Here are a few more pics from my latest walk. When I don't have enough time to walk to the lake, I take a couple of laps around the pond and the nature conservatory. Enjoy!

Things I am Loving right now
- Walks by the lake during cancellations/free meeting times (Enjoy pics below!)
- Having Fridays off! Well, only today really. But I'm playing around with my schedule and may try to work something where I have every other Friday off. I already am required to work 2 late nights and it really does put a damper on my week, so I might as well cram a few extra hours into my weeks and enjoy a couple of 3 day weekends every month! Especially since my dreams have been crushed (ok, so I'm being a little dramatic) and it is now looking like I will still have to commute out to the suburbs 2 days/week for the next year or so.
- This unseasonably warm weather! Everything is in bloom, I'm wearing flip flops, and enjoying being outside this time of year
- Coffee and after work drinks on the balcony
- Mad Men premieres this Sunday!!!!
- Grilling out and hanging with the neighbors in the back yard. I'm really bummed that our 2 downstairs neighbors are moving next month! It's so wonderful to get along so well with everyone who lives in our building!
- Fresh flowers
- Long short-sleeve sweaters (on super clearance!) from Macy's that allow me to wear yoga pants and leggings to work! With the amount of time I spend sitting and/or crawling around on the floor OR wrapping my body around some kid to get the alignment that I want, I should be wearing these types of pants every day!!
