Cubs win!!

After living less than 3 miles from Wrigley Field for almost 6 years, I think you are automatically qualified as a Cubs fan! We were so excited to watch them FINALLY win the World Series!!

Halloween Weekend

We had a great Halloween Weekend.  The weather was cold and rainy, but it didn't affect us too much since the boys are too young to go trick-or-treating.  My brother was in town briefly so he stopped by for a quick visit with the boys and to watch the Penn State game. We ordered some pizza, Adam loved playing with Matt, and Owen snoozed through most of the game.

We took the boys down to our neighbors, so I guess we did take them trick or treating ;)  Adam loves to play with the neighbor kids (and Owen once again slept through most of our visit).  Our other neighbor gave Adam and Owen a little Halloween bag filled with goodies so Adam enjoyed opening that when he got back upstairs.

Tom loves to sit out front and hand out candy every year and this year he had a helper for a few minutes, that is until Adam decided all he wanted to do was eat the candy! Owen and I stopped down for a few minutes and then me and the boys went back upstairs while Bailey and Tom handed out candy all night.

Tired boys :)

Mom and Dad's Visit

This past weekend my parents came to visit.  It's been so fun to see how Adam interacts with them each time they visit.  He's made it a long way from his 3 month old "Bottom Lip" phase (when he stuck his bottom lip out every time someone new would hold him right before he would full on cry).  He definitely recognizes my parents thanks to Facetime.

Saturday we went downtown for a little while to see the green river and walk around since it was semi-nice out.  Adam had a blast seeing all of the people, "beeping" when a horn would honk, and pointing at all of the trucks and buses.  He finally got to see boats in the river and shared his cheerios with a couple of lonely ducks.  My mom stayed back at the apartment to rest, so when we got home Adam filled her in on everything she missed. He loved standing there and "talking" to her.

Sunday we went out to the hotel that they stayed at to join them for breakfast.  Adam was all about pushing the elevator buttons and exploring the lobby.

My Family Visits

My parents and brother came out to visit this past weekend.  Adam loved having visitors and showing off for them. He especially loved getting scared by Uncle Matt.  He would legit jump when Matt would scare him and then he would run to me and laugh hysterically, then look for where Matt was hiding for the whole process to start again.

My parents stayed at a hotel near the airport so Saturday and Sunday morning we joined them for breakfast.  Adam had fun exploring at the hotel and standing in the window watching the cars. He is also obsessed with turning lights on and off and there was a perfectly placed Adam height lightswitch in their hotel room...probably his fav part :)

We didn't get out to do much while they were here, just enjoyed the company in our cozy apartment. We did attempt to go to the Zoo lights, but after a parking nightmare and a not very content little Bud we just went home. An hour and a half in the car was absolutely not worth seeing some Christmas lights.

Here are a few pics from the visit!

Mommom and Poppop visit

Oops. It's been a while since my last post. The weekend after my parents came out to visit, we had a few more visitors...Tom's parents!  They hadn't seen Adam since October when he was pretty weary of new people (or his "bottom lip, wait for it, cry" phase as I like to call it).  So it was quite a treat for them when he was actually interactive and playful. We enjoyed a few days together and had fabulous weather too.  Adam loved all of the attention and being able to show off ;)  And Bailey loved the extra attention too.

Adam's First Birthday!

I cannot believe how fast the past year has gone!  Adam turned one on Friday, July 18th.  We had a quiet little day on Friday as Little Bud was teething and having a little bit of an off day.  Friday evening we went to a local festival to enjoy the weather and celebrate a little for Adam.  He enjoyed his first bite(s) of funnel cake and we sat outside and listened to some music and enjoyed the nice summer weather.

Saturday my parents came into town for a few days so Adam opened his birthday presents, but he was a little unsure, and honestly more interested in the string than actually opening the presents (Bailey, on the other hand, was quite eager to help him open them).

OMG this posture...driving this pediatric PT mama NUTS!!!

After presents and some playtime we gave him his 1st birthday cake and let him go to town.  He was a little unsure at first, but eventually got his hands into it. I don't think he liked that the icing and cake stuck to his fingers so much.  He ate *some* of his cake, but honestly not a lot. He was much more interested in throwing it on the floor, and again, Bailey was more than happy to help out and make it disappear.

A few days later Uncle Matt arrived and Adam had a blast laughing at him.   He also enjoyed some of Grandma's homemade hamloaf and a few pieces of tomatoes (and again, so did Bailey ;) )

Before my family left, we enjoyed a dinner out at D'Agostino's and my cousin Laurel was able to join us.  Adam supported his hometown baseball team and LOVED watching the train (or maybe the fan) that drove around the top of the restaurant.  He's definitely my baby, because he didn't turn down any of the pizza that found it's way into his mouth ;)
