So on Saturday at Do Dah Day our friend Paige was telling us about how she won Coldplay tickets singing karaoke the night before. We all thought that was awesome, so she was telling us she was going to sing again Saturday night and try to win even better tickets. It sounded like a fun time, so we decided to go hang out and support her. But then I ended up not being able to go because my back was in major spasms (more on that later). But Tom still went. Turns out all you had to do was show up at the bar to get your name entered into a drawing to win tickets to see Coldplay. And guess who won??????????????? Tom!!!!So Monday after work we piled in the car and headed to the Oak Mountain Ampitheater (yeah, an outside concert) to see Coldplay for FREE! We beat the traffic, so we did a little tailgatingThen we headed into the concertColdplay was so great!!! They put on an amazing show. Our seats were in the 3rd (top) "tier" but we could still see pretty well.At one point during the show the band came off the stage into the crowd and played on a raised platform on the right side of the stage. That was pretty cool. Then later they came off the stage and started coming up the left side (where we were). Imagine my excitement when I saw the mini platform, guitars, and microphones FIVE ROWS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF US! I was like "You've got to be KIDDING!" and immediately jumped up on my chair to snap some amazing photos and some decent video (sound isn't great - in fact, don't even turn your speakers on, just enjoy the view).
So awesome. They did an encore, of course, and played all the songs I knew. Even the songs I didn't know were great.
